The Social Impetus
A non-competitive sports centre that focuses on social connections.
As modern societies grow increasingly segregated, loneliness emerges as a pressing issue. Sports, known for fostering physical and mental health, also serve as a powerful tool for social connection.
This project envisions a multisport facility in Southern Berlin designed to introduce and encourage sports participation, especially among novices. The layout integrates social and behavioral theories, like proxemics, and employs an agent-based pedestrian simulation model developed in Grasshopper.
